Doritos Frito-Lay

Archibald West had retired in 1971 when he was vice president of Frito-Lay. The creator of "Doritos", triangular chips present on all tables at the U.S. BBQ Sunday, died at age 97, was buried with some of the small triangles and salted declined today in 23 different flavors he created.

Archibald West, died Sept. 20 in Dallas, will be cremated on 1 October and chips will be "spread on her urn before burial," said his daughter Jana Hacker, quoted by the Dallas Morning News. "Indeed, Mrs Hacker said that the family would impart + + Doritos on him" in the grave, confirmed to AFP Maria Estes, director of the Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas (South).

Archibald West, who worked for the brand of Frito-Lay chips, had the idea of triangular chips in 1964 by buying crispy tortillas while on vacation in Mexico. The "Doritos", with a Hispanic name, was thus born in 1966 and was almost immediately successful in all the United States, where they now exist in 23 different flavors. They are sold in 20 countries. Archibald West had retired in 1971 when he was vice president of Frito-Lay.
